Default An amazing break through with Takoda today!

Takoda had an amazing break through today!!!

She actually attempted to play a toy!!!!!!!!!!! She grabbed a tug rope off the floor and shook it and did a play bow!!! And then dropped it again!!!

This may not seem like a big deal, but in the 3 years I've had her, she's always shyed away from play and could never figure out toys or playing. I'm so proud of her and how far she's come since I first rescued her.

From being tossed into a lake to today when she attempted to play, she's come a long way and today made me cry with joy for my issue puppy <3

What a pretty girl. I don't know her story, but I'm glad she's feeling comfortable enough to let herself go a little. I've got one who's come a long way from the shy and scared of everything dog I brought home, so I can kind of guess how you're feeling!

Here's hoping for much playing in the future!

It's always so rewarding to see the first steps of "normal dog behaviour" in rescues

I love seeing dogs bloom and start to act like dogs. Cynder used to never play - not with people, dogs, or toys. Now she'll actively engage other dogs for play and when she is by herself we can get her to play with plush toys - she tends to get discouraged when other dogs butt in. And she'll play wrestle with us now.

When Michael got her, she had been scolded for showing any playful desires as they thought she was going to hurt their kids. Um. Sure. Whatever idiot people. This is a dog that would sooner die than displease you...she wouldn't have hurt your kids even if they were little hellions that pushed all her buttons.
