I was just checking Cali's ears and noticed she has a bit of gunk build up around the ear canal. It looks like a waxy dark yellow/red, which I read could be a sign of ear infection?
I'm just wondering if I need to wait for the vet to clean it out or if there's something I can do for it, I don't want her ending up with an ear infection if that's what it's turning into. |

Most likely its already infected. She'll need an ear cytology done at the vet so they know what's causing the infection and can give you the right meds.

Okay, I had brought it up to my mom a few days ago and I guess she's under the impression that if there's an infection, the ear will smell off. I'm going to have her take a closer look because it is hard to look into with all of Cali's ear fringe.
Hopefully we'll get her into the vet this week. |
