Default So many interesting breeds for adoption in my area!

I'm killing time before peeling potatoes for supper, and so I decided to browse Petfinder. I'm seeing lots of breeds I haven't seen before up for adoption down here.

There's a litter of ACD puppies (which are quite popular in rural areas, yet tend to be the "rarer" of breeds found in this area). There's an adult male Chinese Crested dog. Make that 1 male and 2 female Cresteds.

There's a Corgi/GSD cross (which is quite....interesting? lol). Many, many Dachshunds, including some weird looking dilutes.

A Rottweiler/Great Dane mix. o_O

This is your typical Baton Rouge backyard pit bull neglect case, but I LOVE this guy's ears!

"Uhh...he went thata way"

"Uhh, I meant thata way"

"Uhh, or mehbeh thata way"

But those poor sad eyes....

That one is obviously a Rosey. The ears! The face shape! The between-the-ear tufts!

Not just groomed but a fancy haircut. I was thinking the same thing!

The ear tufts just made me laugh the shoulders are what made me say thr dog needs grooming...a good bath, blowdry, and brushing would work wonders!

Standard Poodle (completely NOT my cup o' tea, but definitely not a breed you see often down here, much less in a shelter)

And there are soooooo many "pit bulls" and "labrador retrievers" (mainly black "labs"). It really is sad that both types of dogs are bred so freaking willy nilly.

And there's a huge increase in Chihuahuas and Shih Tzus as well.
