Even though I'm heartbroken over the loss of Awentia & the pups,we have a brand new litter of puppies.
We heard a car at the end of our driveway about 14 days ago,but couldn't see one.We didn't think any thing about it.When my daughter got home,she said,"Mom,there is a dog crate in the middle of the driveway.What is it doing there?" "And,Mom,by the way,There's a dog inside it." I was like a dog crate,a dog inside? I went down to the end of our driveway,& looked in.Sitting there was the most beautiful Belgian Terveruen(sp?) I've ever seen!I drug the crate all the way up our driveway to our front porch.When I got there,my hubby was standing on the front porch with a collar & leash.We let her out & put the collar & leash on her.She' really sweet.When sh got out,I noticed a note taped in the back.It said,"I no longer want this dog.You take it.She is a good dog,but I can no longer care for her.She has been bred to a Weimaraner/Flat-Coat Retriever mix." Then about a week ago,she gave brith to a litter of healthy,beautiful pups.It was a little awkward & sounds awkward.It sounds false too,but that's seriously what happened!

Congratulations on the puppies! After all you've recently been through, it seems like finding this dog in front of your house was just meant to be. May you find joy and love during the holidays with all these new little ones around you.

Oh, Layla - life is strangely seredipitous sometimes. I know this doesn't erase the pain of your losses, but this dog and her pups obviously needed you terribly, and I daresay you needed them right now.

It also speaks volumes of your reputation and compassion that someone left her in YOUR driveway! That's a wonderful testament to you.
