I rehomed the birds from a lady on craigslist , I am in the process of cage hunting as the one they came in is unsuitable.

Do we have any bird color gurus here? and I think they are male/male , and really unsure on the white one.

Ow and the final name choices are Elvis and Pricella.even if pre has to be butch , i dont care . lol

You typically sex parakeets according to the color of their cere - the piece right above the beak. The color of the bird itself doesn't really matter.

In adult budgies (over a year) the cere will be blue/purple/pink if it's a male, and white/tan/brown if it's a female.

Behavior can help, too. Males are typically chattier than the females, but when the females do vocalize, it's usually much louder and...angrier-sounding...than the males. Males are also more likely to mimic noises and have "tunes" than females. However, ever bird is going to be different and the cere is the best way of telling the difference (short of DNA sexing).

Also, I would check out Drs. Foster & Smith for cages - I got a huge, awesome one for about $150 shipped.

Thats is what I have read around. I am pretty sure the green is a male , but the white cere looks pale purple to me , so probably could be a male. they both are loud .

I hope they are both male , I dont need eggs. lol

I will check out dr fosters. i am really loving the corner hanging cages i have seen.

Very pretty! The green is an English Budgie, the white one is an American Parakeet.
