21 year old dog surrendered to shelter
 A few people posted this in my newsfeed today. 21 year old dog. WTF is wrong with people??  http://www.petango.com/Adopt/Dog-Dac...aired-16908043 ..anybody have room for a temporary dog? I mean, really... I love how their description is "Calm". Calm, Mellow, Non-Excitable. She's 21 years old... I mean...

I wonder if the owner's decision to rehome isn't because they don't want the dog, but because the thought of having to deal with her passing firsthand bothers them. They'd rather let someone else do it.

I don't know why. Maybe their house burned down and they didn't have the money to put the dog down and they can't even get a roof over their own heads. Just one scenerio of a dozen I could think of right off the top of my head. AT least they did take the dog to a shelter and didn't dump or the other things they could have done that would have been just as bad. Maybe they thought the dog would be put down. Who knows the reason, I don't so I won't judge. I sure hope this dog gets someone who will make the last months happy.

Meh, still absolutely unacceptable to abandon a 21 year old dog imho. If you think it's alright, fine, but I will sit here and judge

Is anything known about the owner? Maybe they died or went into a nursing home or something. Seems like if they just didn't give a crap they would have euthanized.

Poor old girl. No matter what the circumstances, its heartbreaking for a 21 yr old dog to have to deal with that kind of stress and upheaval. I hope she is able to find a nice home to live out her days.
