I am so freaking excited!

Ahhhh! There is no way I am sleeping tonight! I just found out the saluki I am adopting from Qatar will not be arriving on August 16th because the person who was bringing him has changed her flight..... So he is comming next Tuesday instead! :dies:
I was thisclose to falling asleep when one of the rescuers in Qatar send me a message asking if the 31st was good for me instead.
Not two hours ago I was all pouty and sad because it is taking so long and the saluki I fell in love with and was supposed be adopting got adopted by her foster mom instead. I took forever choosing this boy and I was so sure something else was going to go wrong.
But he is really comming! I have waited 15 years for a saluki, now it's only a week away!
Plus I am off work until the 7th of next month so I have lots and lots of time to spend with him.

How'd you get involved with a rescue in Qatar?

There is a rescue here in Canada set up to rehome salukis from the middle east. They work with rescues in Dubai, Qatar, Abu dhabi and so on. You can't give Saluki's away over there

There's a lady in the local agility circle here who trains with her salukis (I think she currently is on her 3rd or 4th puppy). They're definitely an interesting breed!

A few Salukis who hunt with us that are imported from COOs, and they're just amazing. I'd really love to bring some dogs in from a COO one day!

He wandered into the 2nd chance rescues farm compound last month so his past is a mystery. Since his ears were chopped he was most likey a hunter or a racer.
Everyone reports he is a big love who loves people gets along great with all dogs which will hopefully make the transition into our family an easy one.
