Update on Trikes Liver..
We finally got the results back and Trikes liver came back not functioning right.
 This puts us at a hard spot because the next step would be doing a liver biopsy and he suggested us going threw a specialist but of course the closest one is 8 hours away!! They can do them here but #1 on his list that he thinks it is..is a liver shunt (a blood vessel that carries blood around the liver instead of carrying blood through the liver) Its fixable by surgery but they don't do that here. So hes saying we can go and do a biopsy spend all that money and it comes back with nothing wrong so in the end we would have to go see a specialist and get them to do the surgey... Right now were looking at our options and gettings quotes and going from there!! This was so not the news I was expecting!!

Are his liver enzymes high?
If so ask your vet about Denosyl, Milk Thistle, and Ursodiol. They help lower the liver levels, prevent further damage, and get the liver bile flowing correctly. So sorry to hear that you & him are going through this, I have a cat that had severe liver failure. With the help of my vet, and alot of nursing at home (he wouldn't eat for months which meant he had to be force fed & given fluids) we got him through it. It took a while for the levels to go down but they went back to normal. I am pretty sure a ultrasound would show a shunt, and they cost less than surgery. My cat had one. Just make sure that it is done by a specialist. My vet said to do a liver biopsy would involve surgery, and that he really wasn't sure if my cat would wake up from the surgery, so I didn't have the surgery done. But some of his liver levels were 1200+. Keep us updated! *hugs*
