Anyone have one? What sort? What did you buy it for?

I am interested in this as well. Some pretty cool sport mixes out there, I have been drooling over some of the borderstaffys lately.

I think the mix is regional. Borderstaffys are HUGE over here and what I was going to get for awhile.

Ok what is a "Sportmix"? Is it like the Border Terrier x Malinois mixes bred out here for flyball? Is it strictly a flyball thing, or do other sports have these mixes as well?

I'm assuming that's what it is.

A Sport Mix is one that is bred specifically for sports, yes, such as flyball. No, I've seen them bred for agility as well...and dock jumping now I think on it. I'm sure there are other sports as well.

You are in CA right? I am getting a Sports Mix from your neck! A Border Terrier x Malinois x Border Collie from the sounds of it. From Lisa Maze I am SO EXCITED!

A Sportmix is a buscuit, which comes in many different colors and "flavors", all of which are actually chicken

Sorry, couldn't resist, lol, we (regrettably) sell these where I work.
Mini-rant: How can you call it a cheese buscuit when there is literally NO cheese ingredients, fake or otherwise?!

Ah ok, it is exactly what I thought it was. I am in California, but about 8 hours from Lisa. Quite a few of her Sportmixes here though.

I guess, since the roles we need our dogs for have changed, it does make a bit of sense that the breeds change a bit as well. 100 years ago we needed working herding dogs. Now, we really don't, but we do need Dock Diving dogs.

I don't, but I'd consider getting one in the future. (My primary interest is Borderstaffs)

Painted Star Farms would be at the top of my list. Blue Cedar makes interesting dogs, too.

We have a few that run at our training center, specifically borderstaffy's. One just went through my puppy k, so I'm excited to see what she'll do when she grows up.
