Serkan's growing up thread (bloodred corn snake)
I decided to make a thread specifically for my little bloodred guy who I finally named Serkan. Those of you who don't know, snakes tend to change a LOT in colors as they grow and it would be fun to compare how he changes as he matures.
Serkan is a 2011 baby. His dad is a pied sided dark cherry colored bloodred so I'm hoping he carries the pied sided gene. I do plan to breed him a little when he is old enough, but I haven't decided if I'm going to end up purchasing a proven female corn or if I'm going to wind up doing a breeding loan. It us just going to depend on the direction I decide to go with him. I do know I want to stick with bloodred morphs and I'd like to see if he will produce pied sided babies. He won't mature to breeding size until he is probably about 2 years old or so. Dial up users beware.... There will be a LOT of photos in this thread. Here are some pics from when I first brought him home early January      A few weeks later

These pics are from today. He shed a couple weeks ago. I'll make sure to take more pics after his next shed. There are a ton of pics that I took today so bear with me
 Belly shots   He has nice dark red saddles... Going to be a looker when he matures    Another belly shot   He looks brighter red against dark backgrounds but he is more than likely going to be a dark red like his dad

     The lighting is a little off in this one... The purple tones are actually grayer in person

I can't believe how big Serkan has gotten. When I got him he weighed roughly 8-10 grams. Yesterday he weighed in at 26 grams. He is seriously my favorite of my snakes. Serkan has never tried to strike at me. He is super friendly and I just love the little guy so much.
Here are some recent photos so you can compare how much he has changed. I can't wait until he fully matures. I'm hoping he will be a solid dark cherry red like his dad though he isn't pied sided like his dad.    Body shot   Proof that my little odd guy likes to eat them rear first. He is currently eating two pinkies per feeding, but he now weighs enough that I could start moving him to small fuzzies.
