I see this dog on all sorts of breed things and websites as both breeds.
![]() Petsmart was also selling a chihuahua mug with this picture on it. Aha here it is: ![]() ![]() http://www.web-dvm.net/papillon.jpg http://free-extras.com/images/papillon_dog-12576.htm http://wooftown.com/breeds/papillon/ http://www.allsmalldogbreeds.com/papillon.html I've honestly looked at it so much I've confused myself. If it's a pap, the ears are small and head seems large in proportion to the body. But the expression doesn't seem chi to me and the ears are really rounded for a chi. I honestly don't know. You'd think I'd be able to pick out my own breed. Poor dog must be confused. ![]() I think the overall proportions look more chi.

I've met some very chi looking papillons but I can't say I've seen many papillon looking chihuahuas before.

Yeah I think it's a chi looking papillon. I've met a few of those and certainly seen pictures of them. This dog's head looks really chi to me and the shorter leg, larger head in proportion seems chi. The ears and smaller eyes look pap though. I've never seen or met a chi that looked like a papillon either, though.
Either way probably not the best dog to model for either breed, lol.

IMO it's not too bad as a image of a young pet papillon. Ear angles are close, I actually like the eye and the stop placement. The elbows are out but if it's 6-8 months old that may correct itself.
I bet as an adult dog he probably looks alright - albeit with small ears.

Yeah the ears are really small. Beau has small ears and his are still much larger than this dog's.
I don't much like the stop. Looks too prominent from this angle to me. Too much dome to the head and not enough muzzle length but it could be a picture. Usually from my experience the head sort of flattens at 6-8 months then the stop increases when the dog ages. Of course I have no comparable pics of Mia at that age but: ![]() Of course she has a long nose, lol. ![]() She didn't really sit much at that point in her life.
