A dog In our rescue at this time last year was found in a ditch with her 18 puppies.... one was dead when they found her, and one more died only hours after they rescued her. All 16 others survived. Too bad nobody mentioned it to the media, it could have made a great story!

Thats pretty good for them I suppose, now a lot of people will see that and want to buy puppies. I hope they are good at screening.
I still can't imagine raising ONE puppy, let alone 17!

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

That is typical for our line of Boerboels; Dora's mom has produced 17 pups twice now, and her 1/2 sister produced 21 pups with 17 surviving. I've told Dora she's allowed 10; since that's how many nipples she has!

That is A LOT of puppies! I saw the video the other day. They are adorable. I would love a ridgeback someday.. I hope they can find responsible homes for them all since they are hounds..

Moxie told me about a line of collies out there that was known for litters of 16-17 puppies. People stopped using that line. lol.
