I worked last night and woke up only after 4 hours of sleep today. I tried to fall back asleep, but no luck :( I have to work again tonight.. it's going to be a long night. I know I'll be fine, I just hate not getting a good sleep. At least I know I'll most likely sleep good tomorrow. I have the next few days off... woo hoo!

Whether you're a Georgia fan or rival or whatever, it's a sad time. Uga VII passed away suddenly yesterday (Nov. 19) from an apparent heart attack.

to the people that HAD to say movie popcorn is soooo BAD..sooooo laden with fat and calories. I say...SHUT THE HELL-O UP! who goes to the movies EVERY day that it matters? yeah..me neither. sooooo when I do go, I'm buying me some big ole calorie laden..fat loving ...POPCORN. and just try to take it away (I will hunt you down, and it won't be pretty) and we're not stupid...like we didn't know those candy packages were supersized. SO WHAT. I WANT my big ole chocolate covered peanuts......thank you! get out of our lives...gooberment..or whoever it is that is trying to get me healthy. I want NO part of it...not at the movies! I want my goodies...and

SHUT UP. pass the popcorn with all that gorey goodness on it..:popcorn:

Fun with the stove

So I got home last night and my wife is standing there with "that look" on her face. I ask what's up and she said, "Did we renew the warranty on the oven? It won't light."

I said, "No, we decided to let it slide." At that point I'm thinking that it was a dumb move to let it slide, but honestly, the warranty cost was just about the replacement cost and I didn't think it was worth it.

Anyway, I decide to "take a look" and confirm that while the burners will light, the oven does not (propane gas setup here). I figured I'd take a look at the manual and the troubleshooting guide to see if that condition is listed. Mrs. Q is telling me, "I already looked there, it didn't help" but I look anyway. Well, apparently there is a separate gas shutoff for the oven and for the range top. It tells me where to find it (take out the bottom drawer and it's behind it) and sure enough, it was half tripped. I flipped it to the off and back on and voila, the stove lit up. I'm guessing that one of the handles from the pots that get stored in that drawer must have pushed it.

Crisis averted for now. Especially since there was panic setting in as we're hosting a dinner party tomorrow and also Thanksgiving dinner. Phew.

So, if your stove won't light, check the shutoff :)

Is there anything that ISN'T put on a pizza anymore? LOL

Pizza doesn't rate at the top of my list for favorites........but it's so darn versatile isn't it? You could throw nearly anything onto a crust and call it PIZZA!

Today I had a little spinach/mushroom pizza with alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce and MMMMMMMMMMMMMM, it was so tasty!

My lunch wasn't crazy, but it got me thinking about all the ways I've had pizza.........breakfast pizza, taco pizza, pineapple and ham, even PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY PIZZA! <------and believe it or not, that PB&J pizza was GOOD!

Do you have a far out pizza style you adore? Or are you just an average topping kind of person?

dogs in weddings

here is a wonderful place where i don't sound extremely crazy...

Zach and I (no, we're not getting married anytime in the near future) would like Milo and Giselle (his parent's mini doxie) to be the ringer bearer and flower-girl at our wedding.

We are keeping in mind that: Milo would like to use Giselle as his new chew toy and take all her stuffing out, and Giselle is not in a million years going to walk down the aisle (or do anything unless it's on HER terms), and also Giselle barks incessantly at every dog she sees and whatever food she wants or chair she wants ON or person she wants to pet her and is going to be the biggest princess in the room whether or not she's wearing the wedding dress (Yes I plan on competing with a 7 lb dog for attention on my wedding day)

Has anyone been to or heard about a wedding with dogs at/in it? How did it work? Did someone walk with the dogs down the aisle? Were they at the reception AND ceremony, or just one? How big/well trained/calm/ etc. were the dogs? Where was the wedding/ceremony? How formal/casual was it?

We're thinking we would have to designate a "babysitter" for each one to keep them happy/behaved/where they need to be. Probably someone would take either one or both of them home afterward, or they would both be leased and kept on opposite sides of the room and we would have the option of bringing them somewhere else should the need arise.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this and if you think it's a good idea, doable, etc.

now don't get me wrong here..I loves me some John, long as he is dressed as the pirate (which is probably more kinky than I want to get in to) I DO love a 'dark' mysteriously sexy man, BUT his interviews of late leave me COLD. so...who is your sexy?

I'll grab Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, a dose of Harrison Ford, a little bit of Brad Pitt (altho he also is beginning to annoy me more often than not). toss in some young stuff....and there are plenty these days..LOL

i am back to watching this year after not watching since the first season.

I have to say that Russell is a snake to lie about his background , but i also have to say that boy got him some find the immunity idol skills, 3 in a row :hail:

Last night episode just had me screaming at the tv , and i am so glad that laura went home , she was working my last nerve.

I am undecided on who to root for , I am tending for it to be either russell, shambo or john .

so what do you think?

So, what is everyone doing for Crimbo?
I am super excited as I get to host for the very first time!
We are doing a lunch, hiring tables and chairs and setting it up outside under out huge willow tree. The kids will be able to use the portapool while we have lunch.

I am having everyone bring something to contribute.
So far the menu is as follows.

Cold roast chicken
Gammon
Fillet steak on the braai with blue cheese sauce.
Green salad
Roast potatoes
Yorkshire puds
Noodle salad
Avo salad
Gravy

For dessert my sister is bringing her xmas cake, I will do a trifel and I am not sure what the other guests will bring. I am so looking forward to it!

Add your menus and plans! I am sure we can poach ideas.

Nikon D40 opinions.

I've been looking at different slrs and I think I've settled on the Nikon D40, but I'm looking for opinions. Specifically I'm looking at getting this kit...

I'd love to hear what others think of this camera as admittedly I don't know much about dslrs. If you have another camera you think I should take a look at, by all means let me know.

This is all a ways down the road as I have to do some saving, but this is a big investment for me and I'd like to be as educated going into it as possible.

this weekend i was in tulsa killing time before meeting with some friends. i own MAYBE three pairs of shoes. *flip flops, sneakers, boots* and decided maybe i should buy a real pair of shoes and a real coat. *only have a few older hoodies*

one of my friends has been going to thrift stores and good will and finding good deals on clothes. so i went to one to try to find some stuff for me. i only took in 10 because i was under the impression the stuff was suppose to be super cheap -.- and was kind of wrong.

anyway long story short old guy comes in and gives me and a few other people 100 dollars :D my friends thought i was crazy but they actually wrote about him in the paper today.

anyway i ended up getting a heavier hoodie *XD love those things* but i don't need the rest of the money. so i put up a poll for you guys to help me decide what to do with the rest of it *roughly 85 dollars*

angel tree- i always do the angel tree and will do this again. but if i use this money i can do more kids.

bell santa - seems easiest

animal shelter - to get them ready for the ginormous influx of pets they will have after christmas :(
