Today at the beach I met a woman with a dog that looked just like Jack and her dog was an Entlebucher Mountain dog. So this woman thinks Jack is an Entlebucher, any opinions? Anyone know anything... He is about 75lbs,brindle w/white front legs. He coat is short and he keeps his ears sorta on the back of his head, if that makes sense. If you had to choose a dog from each group, which would it be? I'm going to use AKC groups, but you don't have to choose AKC dogs. Just put where you think it would be most fitting.

Sporting: Labrador. They are my favorite breed of dog.

Hound: I've always loved greyhounds. Hopefully I'll be adopting one of these in the not-so-distant future.

Herding: Hm...tie between Australian Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd. My mom's friend has one of each, and they are AMAZING dogs. They herd her horses with no training whatsoever! What's even more amazing, is the aussie is a rescue, and he is one of the best cattle dogs I've ever seen!

Toy: Not my favorite group, but I'd have to say Papillion. They seem less "fragile" than other toys.

Terrier: Pitties, by far. I will have many, many of these.

Non-Sporting: Dalmatian. After having Maggie, even though she is only a mix of one, she has a distinct dalmatian personality and I've fallen in love.

Working: Once again a tie, this time between Doberman and Great Dane. Since I like really active dogs, a Doberman would probably be best for me. I am looking for a breed that has little shedding, is a medium sized dog, and is a good family dog?
I am fine with crossbreeds and such, unless people really don't recommend them. I'm looking for all the advice I can get!

I've seen some bigger Yorkies in my lifetime and they used to be bigger dogs than what they're known for today. I don't care either way what he is, but I'm just curious your opinions. Yorkie or Silky? I can never tell the two apart.

my question is...

Are JRTs for the more "experienced" dog trainer, and that's why the ones I often meet that are "pets" are crazy....

OR are JRTs easy to train, and the ones I often meet as pets just haven't had ANY consistent training, so they're bored and therefore become crazy.

How much daily stimulation do they need? For instance, if you were to feed them using puzzle toys, 10 minutes of daily training, and walk... then more on weekends is that enough?

Or are they the type of dog that needs hours of mental stimulation a day? She's one of Mom's fosters. She is supposedly full Great Pyrenees. There is no way. She frolicks and prances around. She is all loose and floppy in the way she moves her legs. And a lot about her just doesn't look Pyr to us. We are leaning either golden retriever or lab. Excuse the grossness of her ears and neck...she'd been playing in the dog pen with the others half the day.

No self respecting pyr flops and begs for belly rubs LOL!

She is a unsure of her surroundings right now, having just been moved out of the intake lines into the main lines. She can be a little standoffish at first, but she's a sweetheart once she warms up to you. One breed I think I see in her is husky, but I'm not sure what else is in there! She does have some bully-type features.
