Andy desperate has until Aug 21

then he will be PTS. He is a deaf 7 year old GSD who loves kids, other animals and his toys. Please help Andy if you can foster or adopt.

A little more information on poor Andy he was originally meant to be a guide dog until they found out he was deaf. So he knows his commands and does them well [hand signals]. He has lived in a family home for 7 years so he is house trained and is a great pet to have. Please anyone who can foster or adopt Andy his days are numbered.

I am just wondering why a dog, meant to be a guide dog was in someone's home for 7 years??
Unless he was determined deaf before he was placed with someone who needed him years ago and was adopted and now the family put him in a kill shelter??

Well anyway, I am glad his future is lookin up!
Is the pet sitter a member on chazhound??

If they aren't I hope they will join and keep us updated, looks like a beautiful dog.

No she is not a member but we are trying to convince her to join up. The people that originally had the dog as a guide dog decided to keep him anyway when they found out he was deaf, but as a pet. Now they are moving to Canada and got a new pup so they decided they did not want Andy anymore. Nice eh? But at least he is with someone who loves him and he knows her already. I hope she joins here and sends us Pics of him, he was a great dog so cute looking.

Oh the petsitters landlord is freaking out so Andy is back on the chopping block. I can take him but I can't get him to me.

I just got off the phone with Wendy from the GSD Texas rescue area and they have pulled Andy so his is in no danger now. Please help save otheres.
