Has anyone heard of these or used these?

They are metal discs on a ring that you are supposed to use when training as a 'punishment'

if your dog is jumping on the table, you are supposed to throw them down, while saying 'no', or something along those lines...i havent read a ton about it yet, especially since i am having trouble finding out where to buy them even if they are good.

concept makes sense to me, especially since oakley likes jumping up on the table, and wont get off, or hasnt learned 'off' well enough to follow it every time. the problem is, he jumps up (i think) to get attn, and since he wont respond to off, i have to physically shove him off, which he prob thinks is fun, since he likes any form of attn...so yah, anyways, getting off topic, lol

if anyone knows anything about these, let me know! :)

Well....you probably alread know my opinion about punishment based training and making your dog fear and distrust you. Throwing things at a dog may frighten it and I think a trusting bond is the most important training tool there is. You can show your dog what you want and distract him away from what you don't want. Replace the behavior with something he can do which will be rewarding. If you watch your dog very carefully and intercept before he jumps on the table, he won't get whatever payoff he's getting when jumping on the table. Prevent it and find an alternative that is even more interesting and rewarding than jumping on the table. Soon he will lose interest in this activity. Is there anything on the table that he is trying to get? Food, some entertaining object? Remove the payoff out of his reach.

the problem is, he jumps up (i think) to get attn, and since he wont respond to off, i have to physically shove him off, which he prob thinks is fun, since he likes any form of attn...so yah, anyways, getting off topic

Actually you're right on topic. He is getting attention for doing this. Maybe it's like a game to him when you shove him off. Try to prevent him from getting on there in the first place. Find him something better to do, more rewarding too. Be VERY consitant and patient...hang in there and do this diligently for a few weeks. He'll stop if you do it right. (I know....had the same problem with Lyric and that's how I handled it.)

I don't know, but it sounds just like the concept behind the shake can. You can make on of those for free, if that's the way you want to go.
