Hi guys I have a question. I have a new puppy, 11 week old Pomeranian/Maltese mix. I'm just curious do puppies sleep a lot? My puppy wakes up around 7am, plays for a while and is knocked out for most of the afternoon until his next feeding time. I took him to the vet as soon as I got him and nothing seemed wrong to the vet. Was just wondering if it was normal or not. Thanx a lot ;)

Not sure, but I think pups do sleep a considerable amount more than adult dogs.

they do sleep a lot, if you think it might be too much call you vet and tell them about how much time the pup spend sleeping a day, not including while you sleep. rory is a 13 week old australian cattle dog, possibly a little something else in her. she sleeps all night (or atleast doesnt whine and wake us up) during the day she usually takes 2 naps, from 30 minutes long to 1 hour long depending on how much we move around and make noise, and wether or not our gsd makes noise.

I can always tell when mine are about to take a growth spurt. They sleep and eat, eat and sleep, with a few short play breaks.
