We were called yesterday about an Akita in the Caldwell ID shelter. Here's what the shelter wrote:

"Okay, so here’s Shugo. Shugo is a male, altered, 7 year old, purebred Akita . Shugo arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender. The owner has had him for 5 years and decided to dump him here after he had a baby. The dog did not do anything aggressive to the baby, but the owner says that he’s “jealous” of the baby. I told the owner that the dog would be euthanized due to lack of space. He didn’t care. The dog was brought into the shelter, and I broke the rules. I made space for him by using an adoption kennel. He is a nice dog with a bad owner. But, I need to get him moved out ASAP. I already spoke with Joan Smith and she is able to take him if he is accepted into a rescue. So, I have my fingers crossed that you’ll have room for him.
Thank you for all of your help and speedy reply,
Karly Cantrell
