There's a "classified" (posted by an individual owner, not a group or shelter) on Petfinder for a fila brasilero.

"Gracie is a sweet dog and we have had her since she was weaned. 9 months old now, current on shots and is spayed. Vet records go with her. Housebroken and VERY friendly however is a chicken when new people come over, which is unlike her breed standard. Gracie LOVES kids but is unaware of her size and is too much dog for my small kids. We are looking into moving due to job transfer and cannot take her with us. Healthy and well taken care of. Adoption fee is negotiable to a knowledgeable home. Please do not inquire if you have not researched this breed! She is a runt and therefore is small in size but weighs 80lbs. reverse fawn brindle with black mask. "

She's in Kennewick, WA. The ID number is 1669449 .

:(

I wish we were on our farm. I would totally bring her home.

:( So sad.

filarescue.org and west coast mastiffs are the only rescues that I know that may take filas, off the top of my head. :(

You don't need a farm for a Fila :) Not even remotely. And they are easier to live with in a house - or a small space - than many smaller dogs.

Sounds like Gracie needs someone who would take her out on walks around people and let her learn and get used to moving about in the world.

I wish. Our apartments only allow service dogs. Other dogs aren't even allowed to walk on the grounds. The assistant manager lives below us, and she looks different enough from Strider they'd probably notice. :(

But that's right next to where my brother lives! Wah! Maybe I can convince my friend Mel to foster her.....Until we get out of here....
