Ok, I used the search function and tried to find a thread on australian cattle dogs (blue heelers) and i couldn't find one, My new puppy is one, and I need some info bout the breed, how hyper, what kind of activities they like, and I was hoping yu guys could help me out. he seems really sweet, but I'm the only person he really likes, so maybe they are one person dogs? I just need more info thanks a lot

Here's a good site http://www.australiancattledog.com/
And there's always the AKC to look at as well. I don't know a whole lot about them, but they are a herding breed, which generally means lots of energy and high work drive which can translate into ruined people property if not properly channeled/trained. The people I talk to who own them say they are great dogs, very loyal and smart--I don't think they're as high on the "shadow facto" as Aussie Shepherds are, but probably pretty close.
Do you have a picture? I thought about getting an ACD, but I just liked the looks of the AS more.

I have a Queensland Heeler , which is the same breed, Australian Cattle Dog. They are great dogs, not too hyper, very behaved, loving, and can learn as fast as the fastest person alive. I think they are one of the best dogs ever!!!!

First off, (not trying to be rude), but shouldn't you have looked into all this BEFORE getting a puppy?
That being said, heelers are very active dogs. They are a herding dog, so of course they are going to be very active dogs. They can get aggressive, so just make sure you socialize you pup well with strangers, kids, and other dogs.
Well bred working pups will show an early biting/nipping....so make sure you cure that if it happens. I have worked with and trained quite a few heelers for people. They are great for working livestock that will try "run them over" so to speak b/c they have a great deal of determination. My good friend has a 7 m onth old blue heeler pup that already works his bucking bulls. And, let me tell you what....bucking bred bulls are NOT a nice thing to try and move/mess with. If that pup gets kicked/hurt, he just digs in harder. It's amazing the determination that he has at such a young age. They also get angry easily when it comes to stock. I wouldn't recommend them for "fragile" livestock.
Anyways, have fun with your pup. Socialize him and obedience train him and he'll make a wonderful pet.
