As some of you may or may not know OC has been having loose stooles partially due to being given too much watermelon at once and partially due to the heat we've been having (once he gets loose stooles his tummy's very sensitive until I can get them normal again and then he can tolerate a lot of things once more). So I went out and bought some canned pumpkin to help out his tummy (along with some ground beef and rice) but I was just wondering, how much pumpkin should one feed a 61Lbs dog and how often?

Since it's only pumpkin and won't hurt him, try giving him about a quarter cup or so and see how 'things come out' :D

Hi
Since OC is such a large dog, I'd start with 1/2 c with each feeding. I give my sheltie 1/4 cup when she has troubles like that and it usually clears up quickly when using the pumpkin.

Sorry, Summer . . . gotta giggle at your description . . . everything is relative . . . the 60 pound dog at my house is the little dog, lol! :D

you don't really need all that much. a good teaspoon per 20-30 lbs of body weight per meal is often enough already.
but more won't hurt. :) the "magic pumpkin" works for both diarrhea and constipation, so there is no danger of ending up at the other extreme, and most dogs love the taste.
