Just curious, what exactly *is* Dock Dogs?

Looking for any/all info as to what the sport is, how to get involved, your personal experiences etc.

Thanks :)

www.dockdogs.com There are 2 types of classes. Extreme veritical, which is a competition how high a dog can jump. And Big air, which is a competition on how far a dog can jump. The titles are gained by how far your dog jumps. A set number of jumps in a category gets your dog that title.

the columbus division had a demonstration set up at our annual Pet Expo... they invited me to bring my dog in to try it out (he would love it), but he was full coated (OES) at the time and it was about 30 degrees outside so I declined... they told me to look on that website for more info but there isn't anything i could find on joining a club or trying it out. I was a little sad about that, I don't let him do many dog sports because he is so large, and dock diving seemed like a lower impact for him. Plus - swimming!

Let me know if you find out anything more than I did. I was so frustrated at that website...

They were showing this at our pet expo today actually. There was a huge crowd of people standing around though so we didn't really hang to watch. Funny you mention it since I didn't really know anything about Dock Diving until today.

I plan on training Chalice in dock jumping this summer. She is a great swimmer goes out more than 50yds for her floaty toy. I wanted to this last year but i couldn't find a dock in a good area we found one tho and the end of summer and got permission to use it. I hope she likes it as much as she likes swimming.
