Anyone else here owned by a Mini Aussie? and just curiously what do you think of the debate going about AKC accepting them? True Aussie people despise the idea but I want them to be excepted!

I don't know anyone who has one yet. But if the AKC is looking at them and the top breeders don't like it, then they may have a good reason of concern.

well I agree with the whole over breeding thing I hate that. but I wish they would atleast make it possible for them to get ILP's I have tried w/ my mini and have been unsuccessful.. but im gonna keep tryin!

ya thats what I did... tried to reg. her as an Australian Shepherd and under reason for ILP I said "Not tall enough for standard." but they didnt like her.. so im makin a new one and sendin again lol...

shes right near 14" cant remember if its 13 1/2 or 14 1/2" but somewhere near there...

ya Im gonna do Agility and Obedience... no showmanship at all! so I dont get why they refused the first time lol but w/e

Don't be too swift to crave AKC acceptance. That's been the death knell of many good breeds.

Personally, I'll fight AKC acceptance of Filas down to the last inch. Thankfully, it's highly improbably that it will ever be an issue; Fila people can't agree among themselves on certain aspects of a breed standard. There are enough of us purists out here to keep the controversies going indefinitely, too.

Titles are nice, but in the long run, you don't love your dog any more or less because of them, and they don't change who your dog is, and that's really what living with a dog is all about.

ya the only reason I Want to get an akc ilp is so I can go on the road showing w/ one of my good friends... I dont care if we fail every class lol I just wanna go have fun w/ my friend and our dogs!
