I did these in class, when I probably should have been paying attention to our guest speakers... ah well, they were boring anyway!

I think I'll just stick with rough sketches - I ruin the "spirit" of them when I try to make them more concrete, and my sketching has always been rough. It's more fun for me that way.

This one was originally a dobe, but he morphed into Zaphod...

This one decided to be a GSD.... or maybe Tyr.

It's RONIE!

This was originally going to be a Dogo Argentino, but it turned into Paco from Paco Collars.

That's all, more will come tomorrow when I spend my classtime sketching again! :)

I always want to draw Ilsa for you, but I'm not as good of an artist as almost everyone else on here seems to be.

A foray into the brachycephalic breeds... blech! Apparently this is a very badly bred Boxer with an Orbee fixation...

Great pictures! Aww, I love the one of The Vood. Not that I'm biased or anything.

You have excellent gesture lines and understanding of space!!!!!! have you had any life drawing classes? THe first line should express the spine and the second your weight bearing...keeps drawings from being stiff and more to what is really there. Keep up the good work!

Nope - just the rawing classes I needed to be accepted to my program.

i think you would enjoy them. Especially since you seem to have a feel for action. YOu could do the same thing by watching the dogs and doing pure gesture drawings...then going in later and working them the rest of the way out. We started with 15 sec...30 sec to 1 min to 5 min 10 min to 30 minute poses and always finished out the three hours with a one hour pose. It was grueling but very very good for me.

Oh, LOVE these! I posted before but I bet it got eaten.

You caught Zaphod's exact form when running, too, right down to the tail. Are you sure you don't know my dog? :)
