I have had many issues with my German Shepherd, Prince. Constant barking at all times of the day and night, complaints in the mail from neighbours and city council, everytime someone walked past my house I would know about it. Living on a busy street did not help the problem one bit. I tried everything from going outside to tell my dog off everytime he barked, to buying a barking collar that I had to buy refills for regularly. The collar cost $250 and at $30 a refill and $15 for new batteries it was soon becoming very costly, but still didn't solve the problem.
I love to walk my dog Prince, but his aggression towards other animals was becoming too much for a small lady when he weighs 80lbs. Everytime I would walk by another house with dogs, all it took was for Prince to catch a glimpse of the other dog and it was on! Pulling and tugging at the leash was a work out and just as I would get him to settle down, I would see another person walking a dog! I would have to make a detour very quickly before Prince saw what was heading his way, otherwise I'd be getting walked by the dog! It's not a fun experience. It became such a huge effort to walk the dog, that he ended up missing out on joining me for a walk when I went to the corner store. I would've taken him if I could, but the thought of him seeing another dog instantly turned me off the idea and the poor boy would miss out.
Another problem I faced was everytime a friend came to my house, they got jumped on constantly. Nobody wants to visit somebody if they have to fight off a big animal on their way to the front door and an 80lb dog is strong. I always avoided having people over for fear he would jump on someone. They may have a back injury or something and end up very, very hurt. It was a risk i just couldn't afford to take.
Digging! I used to have lovley lawn, but that is a thing of the past. My dog Prince used to love to dig and it was becoming a massive problem. I don't have an outside light so I would have to remember where the holes were, otherwise, if I went outside in the dark I could've ended up breaking my ankle! I already sprained it from falling in a hole. I love my dog but at the time I was running out of ideas...and patience!
A friend suggested a dog training school where u take your dog to be trained with no other dogs around. I tried it, well it didn't do any good. Prince is a smart dog, he managed to breeze through dog school but as soon as we got home he was back to his old self again. He still barked at the gate, was still aggressive towards people and other animals and still dug 101 holes in my lawn. I still wasn't able to walk my dog for fear of him seeing another animal and dragging me towards it.
Then about two weeks ago, I stumbled upon something amazing! Sharda Bakers' DIY Dog Training Program! I thought to myself, well I have tried almost everything else I just want something that works. After reading through her website and seeing how much success others have had using her system I thought I would give it a shot. Let me just say that that was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time.
Using the DIY Dog Training Program, you dont' have to take your dog to classes, it's easy and very affordable and best of all, I'm able to walk my dog again. Now I can stroll down the street with Prince on a leash and he will walk right by my side! Other animals no longer bother him and barking at the fench everytime someone walks by is now a thing of the past. I have begun filling in the holes all around my backyard and haven't even found any new ones *fingers crossed*.
I highly recommend this DIY Dog Training Program to anybody with doggie issues. Its great for big dogs and small dogs. I even showed my friend this product as she has been having similar problems with her dog. They are already making steady progress to a much happier, healthier life for both of them. We have even started introducing our dogs to each other and its been great! We tried this once before with no luck, but now we can take them for walks together and sit in the park for a chit chat without stressing about our dogs behavour.
