I am looking into getting a Boston puppy soon. I was wondering if anyone here could talk to me more about BT from their own experiences. I've read good things about them and hopefully their as good as dogs as i hope for.

Thanks

Bostons are wonderful dogs!

They are mini boxers really. Just make sure to either rescue or find a reputable breeder.

My neighbors own three they are all people and dog agressive. One bit my nephew and caused him to get stitches and bit my mom pretty severely as well. They have also attacked my dogs.

But it all has to do with how they are raised. I know there are sweet ones out there. I have just never met any.

To add some positive Boston experiences my grandparents Boston as I was growing up was a cool little bloke. A wee bit full of himself at times but none the less was a great companion to us kids growing up.

We have a few Boston owners on the forum. I'm sure they'd be able to tell you more than I can.

I cant believe they can be that mean, but as you said its how their raised.

Thanks for positive feedback. Hopefully those BT owners will post here.

Well, to counter some of the negative experiences on here, I can tell you that my boston terrier is a little sweetheart that loves people and is best buds with all my mother's daycare children. They all love it when Joey comes to visit. Of course I've worked with him on manners and such. Do you have any specific questions about bostons? I'll sure try to answer them if I can.

On of my kennel club friends owns 9 (Wilber being my favorite:D) The first time I visited they ALL happily greeted me not one was aggressive and I had only met maybe 2 of her Bostons outside of her home at my class or at Confo Shows. Its not only how there raised its also breeding. I personally have never met an aggressive Boston. A Friend of mine also just rescued an abused Boston that although over sized with a little longer face is the perfect Boston temperament. Just be sure to find you a reputable breeder or rescue.

Too true on the raising . My Mom and Hubby each had a BT growing up and they were fine ....Billy and Mitzy .
