I hope this is the right forum for this thread. I certainly think lure coursing qualifies as a dog sport.

A few weeks ago we took two of our kids to get their junior coursing certificates. for the JC they run by themselves and the judge qualifies them or not based on follow, agility, keenness, recovery and speed. They need to run on two separate days under two separate judges to get the JC. First here is Radar (Can Am Ch Eidolon Take To The Sky JC). He is truly my heart dog and a more loving boy you could never find. He loves showing and coursing.

I have a lot more but it only lets me put 4 photos at a time up.

Gorgeous dogs!

(you can post as many photos as you want, they just are limited to four pics a post. Most of us have 3-5 posts in a row when we're putting up pictures.)

Welcome. Gorgeous pics
I have a retired grey and we thought about doing coursing with him but he was retired becuase he broke one of the tiny bones in his leg so he couldnt :(.

Retired greys love to course. I know a few who come to the fun runs near me - but he will run regardless of any any injury and you can't take that chance. I know at the fun runs we make the lure operator stop Radar after 3 runs cause he would run till he dropped if we let him.

Wow, stunning dogs! Radar has a special look about him, you can just tell he's an amazing dog by his expression. I love how feminine Phoenix is.

Thats how Scirocco would be. With the rescue we work with you can take your dog to the Derby Lane racetrack if you are part of the orginization (part of the effort to get them adopted out) but we took Scirrocco once and he about pulled me and my mom onto the track he loved hearing the bell ring. We cant take him anymore becuase he gets to excited and he gets seizures if hes to excited :(. But we have taken fosters when we had them and they still wanted to GO when the bell rang.

eee!!! They are so beautiful!!!

There is nothing better than a borzoi doing what it was made for. Thanks for sharing pictures. Your dogs are gorgeous. Someday Strider may lure course, but that will depend on his ability to turn off the chase instinct while working.

Thanks - Romy you never know - many dogs will course their playmates and you would never expect them to run clean but when they get focused on the lure they go for only that. You will never know until they are given the chance. Radar blew us away with his keenness. I never expected him to want to run before we took him out the first time but it's in his blood and he's crazy for it. Phoenix is a little rocket and loves the lure but she still young and not confident around other dogs. Maturity will tell if she will run with other dogs.

Oh and if you follow coursing at all - Radar is a full litter mate to Sapphira and JoJo - both in the top 5 lure coursing borzoi for last year and Sapphira is a 2 time triathalon winner at the borzoi nationals (2006-2007). So I shouldn't have been surprised that Radar would love it so.
