View Full Version : Breed Related Sleeping Question
Who here has a dog that sleeps with it's eyes open? And what breed is it?
The reason I ask is, I've heard of greys that do it. Also, the staghound we fostered did, and our borzoi does too. I haven't read anything about dogs other than greys doing it.
Do other breeds of dog tend to do this? Or just sighthounds?

I'd see Lucas do that sometimes, not compltely open but partially open. Although, it was really hard to tell at times with the "mascara" he had around his eyes. What I mean is the black lining.
He was a malamute.

my mini schnauzer sleeps like that..but I think it's because that she is blind....

Kharma (Fila Brasileiro) and Bimmer (GSD/wolfX) both do it on occasion. My Bear did it (GSDXAkita). I think pretty much all my GSDs did.

i used to have a (human) roommate who did that. it was, to say the least, unnerving.
luce (pit bull) is the only dog here who does it that i've noticed.

Xerk has done it a few times. Gaia, another PH did it all the time. (Both Sighthounds)

My last dane, Shelby, did it all the time. Creeped me the **** out. I was always checking to make sure she was still "with us" because it just looked so unnatural.
