Puppies had their first trip out today. They weren't too convinced, but I insisted on the "experience" anyway, lol! It's probably the last day of dry weather we will have so it was mandatory!!

I don't know anything about pugs or breed standard or anything, but I think Eleanor has my favorite face. She's a beauty, in my eyes.

Eleanor is quite the little model in the pictures...I just wish she had the temperament to go with it. She's just way too soft and reserved for my liking, but she may still find her courage. Pugs should be bold and brave and happy and she's still not too sure about this world. She'll make a fantastic lap dog, but even with her looks, I just don't think she would enjoy the ring at all.

Grammy- they were pissed! I disrupted their perfect little puppy pen world by plopping them outside on pavement. How dare, I!!!! ROFL:D

Forgot to answer this. She is trying, yes. She definitely doesn't like the nursing sessions anymore and gets up before they are done. I want them to nurse for at least 6-7 weeks though so I hope she can wait it out a little longer...

It's hard to tell when Mom says enough is enough !!! I hated to start solids too soon ! ( more work for me ) and all my females told me by regurgerating their supper . It usually was between 5 and 6 weeks . But with an average of 10 pups , I was happy with the Mom's clean ups , rather than my 40 to 60 pick-ups a day ! I can't blame those poor Mom's licking up so many stools a day when nursing !

Oh my goodness, they are such rolly polly little cuties! And those little faces, impossible to resist. You must give mamma lots praise for making such wonderfully cute puppies. Even my hubby had to come look, he loves pugs. Of course I am not suppose to mention how drooled over them and how cute he thought they were, because you know that just wouldn't be manly of him,LOL. But you guys won't tell.

OMG! *squeals* They are TOO cute..

Gloria is still my "pick". She has a beautiful little face!

.. is it just the lighting or does Todds mask receed a bit too much? I'm not sure the Pug standard on masking for the Black &Tans though.. I only know in Belgians that they need a full black mask across their muzzle and preferably around their eyes up their forehead.

.. gawd they do look pissed eh! haha! "WHY ARE WE OUT HERE?!" haha.. oh man they are little kinds and queens already! Alice has taught them well hehe!

Todd is his mother's son. He is the only one who got her TERRIBLE pigment. He could be shown "as is" but he definitely could use a deeper mask and ears. Both will darken as he ages (he looks JUST like Alice did) and get better, but they'll never be as good as the other two. I personally like a fuller mask because I think it does wonders for expression. Alice finished her championship easily without the deep pigment and I never once cheated by coloring her, but as a breed I prefer to preserve what should be, deep, jet black pigment.:)

Don't give up too soon! My Windy was the most soft and was so worried about anythig new, always hanging back...in the litter at this age...

She just tore up the ring 3 days in a row and picked up 6 points, her first time out...you never know! She changed a lot withn the 6-10 week window with those frequent outdoor trips and playing with my kids and the other adult dogs here.

That's great to know, thanks! It's strange because they almost take turns being the "worried" puppy in the litter. LOL!

The most adorable things ever. Reinforces my desire to have a pug one day (when I can't keep up the JRTs) Every time I meet a pup, there is just something about them that makes me smile.
