Awww! Do all pug pups have that much black down their spine which then fades or are they going to possibly turn out a little smutty?

The black down their backs is called "trace." All pugs are suppose to have trace, but unfortunately breeders aren't working very hard to preserve it. The colors/coats on these puppies will completely go away in a few weeks and a new, lighter color will come in. Their trace may lighten or stay the same, but by no mean will they be smutty!:yikes:

Gloria has my heart and I think it will be her, but I can't tell anything conformation wise yet so that may all change...:)

I have an abysmally slow dial-up connection so I rarely go to photo threads, but I've been wanting to see these pug pups and I am glad I did! They are truly adorable. The pug is one of very few small dogs that I would consider having.
I train with a woman here who has a rescue pug of indeterminate breeding. His conformation isn't great and he has some foot problems now (he's six - his feet get sore quickly - his toes seem to splay more than normal and some of his pads are grown together). And she keeps him thin on purpose, so he looks different from most pugs (as most seem to be overweight). He actually has a waistline! He's a VERY bright dog who wants nothing more than reinforcement and will turn himself inside-out if possible just for a tiny treat. But he's got a mouth like a shark and personally I always toss his treat on the ground so as not to end up with a bloodied hand .. *L* He's a character and has done quite well in events (has his CD, I believe, and at least a couple of agility titles - before he started going lame).

When you already have 4 dogs under one roof it's easy not to keep them all!, lol! Just kidding, I really do love each puppy and will be really sad to see them go. :(

I have 3 pugs and a bulldog...soon to be 4 pugs and a bulldog ;)
