We have a lot of threads in the training and puppy forums about young dogs biting and nipping in play. Little puppy teeth hurt. Big dog teeth and jaws can cause untold damage. Dogs bite. This is natural to them. It is necessary for their survival in the wild and even sometimes in our world. A lot of people automatically have the belief that all puppy biting should stop. And it should. But ...not before the puppy learns expertly how to regulate the force of his bite.
Here is what the experts say. Here is an article all dog owners should read and especially puppy owners. I hope I don't see one more thread here or in the puppy forum entitled something like: "My puppy is nipping me and won't stop. What do I do." Here is everything you ever wanted to know about puppy bite inhibition and how to control biting and nipping. (of course, I don't mean that no one should make a post asking for additional help. But read this first, by all means.)
