Hello,
Does anyone know if a dogs behavior will change after they are spayed or neutered? I've heard that they will be more calm after they've had this procedure. Also will this give them some discomfort if they have it done when they are alittle older. Thanks.

i got sly neutered because people said that it would calm him down and i that point in his life he needed to, but nope didn't slow him down for a minute. came out of the vet's dragging the assistant. the only thing it changed in sly was his desire to lift his leg. He still does, but not like before he was neutered. hope this helps.

It depends on the dog, it can settle some dogs down, but it doesn't replace training.
For dogs that are not neutered or spayed as they age, the risk of cancer greatly increases if the dogs are not regularly used for breeding.
