50 days of pregnant pug

50 days today and she's GROWING! Alice got her final nail dremmeling today. This weekend I will shave her belly hair and she'll receive her final bath.

She really doesn't look nearly as big in this picture as she does in person. I think it's the angle.

Grammy, I will start taking her temp twice a day starting on Monday. Then next Friday she will start progesterone blood testing again. Once her progesterone drops it's a sign that the puppies are cooked and she's ready to whelp. The drop in progesterone is also what triggers milk production.

It's fairly unlikely that she'll start labor before the 17th. Since her due date was calculated off of the exact day she ovulated, it's usually very accurate +/- 2 days.

Chances are she won't have her section until she's in early labor. I'll be ripping my hair out! :yikes:

SP, I took photo after photo of Penny, and I would come in here and look at it and think....She doesn't even look PREGNANT in that one, and she looks like she swallowed a milk jug here. LOL

It's amazing how quickly they change! I am glad I took pictures along the way. I am sure I'll make a scrapbook or some tribute to this litter.

A lot of people seem to think she'll have 5 puppies. I have to just wait and see. At this point I am just so nervous about cleft palates at birth and then keeping the litter alive :yikes: AND...I keep trying and trying to feel or see movement and nothing! My husband keeps catching me staring at her belly and he says "oh no, not again!" :lol-sign:

Anxious with and for you !!! I didn't know if a C-section was safe after labor started . Does the vet feel that a c-section is needed or is this your choice ?? I hate to fool with Mother Nature !

Showpug I had a dream about Alice last night! I dreamt she had four puppies 3 boys and a girl. Although my dream may be a little off because all the puppies were brown (like chocolate lab brown). Sorry it sounds crazy but I know it had to have been about Alice because I don't know anyone else who's expecting pug puppies besides Alice.
