I read an article that will train dogs to love cats to death. Is this true to happen and to some of who already had their dog and cat having intimate relationship, how was the training?
Personally, sounds ironic.

It's easy to make a dog love a cat. Just cover the cat with peanut butter! :D

Sure, peanut butter would work for to get the dog to love the cat.
My dog's thoughts" Man, this peanut butter sure has sharp claws!"

But then how do you get the cat to love the dog?

Well from experience it all depends on the size of the dog. If the cat is bigger they will love the dog and the dog will love them. Until the cat starts chasing said dog and pouncing on and rubbing him when he's peeing. They the dog becomes a little less happy to see the cat.

My queston is how do you get the cat to love the big dog?

Neko and Max loved each other. Neko much preferred Max to Willie (cat) because max never harassed him or jumped on him when he left the litter box. Max was his sleeping buddy and fun to rub against.

Max, we thought would kill a cat, turned out he loved them! We just took things slowly, intros through crates, then let Max watch the cat from behind a baby gate. With Willie since we knew he would not harm him we out Max in a down and let Willie check him out. Willie never liked Max as much as Neko did, but he did only know him for 4 months.

When I was a kid we introduced our kitten to our GSD by letting him stick his head into the box the cat was in. The dog came out with the kitten attached to his face (ala aliens) and they got along fabulously after that.

When I introduced Xerxes to my cat, she used to hiss and box him as well. He learned that he had to be gentle with him. She learned that dogs will respect the law of "fully clawed" cats...but to be ready to go into hiding at a moment's notice. Heck she even got involved on the winning side of a standoff with the girl I fostered-who had never been around cats before.
