my name is Mary and I had two dogs until recently (We lost our dally to cancer last month). I have an aussie shep named Basil who is 12 and very very smart. He enjoys long walks in the park and loves to swim in the lake.

He loved his brother Dally but doesn't really care for other dogs though he will tolerate his cousins and good friends when they visit.

My husband and I work together from home we run three websites.

Good thing Basil is so smart, I know he's going to miss Dally. Hope Basil will got new brother or sister.

I want to run right out and get another dog but my husband wants to wait a few months. I know we are going to adopt but I am not sure which breed or mix yet.

Basil is 11 so I was thinking maybe an older dog that needs a home.

John wants a puppy but I don't think Basil will like that so much.

Welcome! I am a bit of a newbie as well.

So sorry for your loss of Dally. I had a dal that I lost a few years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him. Dals are wonderful companions.

Thanks for the great and welcome. Basil is a mix he is 1/2 Australian Shep and 1/2 black lab and he does look more like a lab than the shep but his personality and demeanor is all Aussie. He is so very smart, an excellent watch dog and yet pretty cuddly.:)
