I finally narrowed my search down to one shelter and 4 dogs. That was hard by the way. Here are the 4 and wanted everyones opinions. My criteria was older and small.

Angel: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9064175
BB: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=8647182
Chico: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9036401
Lady: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=8926572

Of course I vote for BB....LOL. Totally, Beagle-ly, biased. ;)

On the serious note tho...whichever dog is in most imminent danger should be your choice.

Congrats on the new dog whichever you choose!

I too tend to love the hounds....but I will say I am drawn to little Angel. But I would think you should just go meet them, and see who chooses you!

Thats how i feel about seniors working with the organizations has showed me how hard they are to adopt out so i made that a factor

Get both! ;) I vote for Angel but that's just because I like short hair on a dog. Go meet them and bring home who you fall in love with.

I wish i could get both but i cant afford both their adoption fees much less care for both right now. I think it will be angel jsut because of the back thing.

I know when I went to the shelter--I looked through their photo book, asked some questions...then took two of the dogs out for a walk... upon return to the shelter, one of the dogs turned around, put his paws on my chest and looked at me like "please dont leave me here"..I took him home! LOL!! The other dog was Baxter's brother, and he couldn't have cared less that I was bringing him back in to the shelter. It's been Loooooove ever since....LOL!

also senior dogs come with senior problems. Mine was 200+ yesterday. IF i hadn't made that the day before mary would be gone now because that was suppose to be my gas bill. That is a factor that i keep trying to tell Hyia you can't have a pet until you can assure vet care. I think the younger dog is the wiser choice at this point in your life. Later when you are more secure, take a senior and give them a wonderful life to the end.

Walker wouldnt let me not take him and he is my two favorite breed types so thats how i chose before but i wanted some help with the smaller ones since i know very little about small dogs.

The vet bills i can handle because my vet works with me on payment plans and everything shes like a second mom to meso im not worried that much about it plus starting next week i have a steady 300+ dollars coming in a week.

I was going with Angel and BB. I love hounds, and my dog is a hound/terrier mix, so I might be partial to terriers, too.

Chico might get interest because he's purebred, or a Chi rescue group might take him.
