RIGHT! a mission to all that will help!

so we agreed we can at least give this a try? get in contact with your local kennels and get pictures of all dogs on death row and other animals if needs be.

try and get the kennels to keep the dogs as long as they can and put their faces on flyers with the grand title of this post advertising urgent homes. you can also offer the kennels to vet check peoples homes for the dogs.

the thing is to make it as easy for the kennels as possible to want to take part.

if the dogs are rehomed in less then a week they are more likely to expand the length of time for rehoming death row animals.

so please contact your local kennels and ask for pictures for your flyers n post them EVERYWHERE:D even papers may do a good dead n allow it free

That's a good idea. Although around here a few of the newspapers run pictures of shelter dogs once a week, and a lot of local businesses post those pics in their windows and bulletin boards. :)

Our local rescues go to the shelter and take photographs of all the dogs, then put them in one giant post on craigslist with the kennel #s attached to each picture.

The shelter has reported that since they started doing this, adoptions have increased almost 10-fold, pretty substantial difference! Sometimes they will post an *URGENT! Need foster or home immediately!* ad, with the dogs picture and bio, along with something saying "if he isn't out by 8 pm tonight they are going to euthanize him."

Pictures really really help though, I think that when people can look into their faces, they aren't just "lab X from kennel # 34523", they become real live beings that need help.

Romy, I never thought of that! Usually Craigslist is a deathtrap for dogs-- I would have never thought of doing that! That's a great idea!

Anyway, this is a great plan of action :D
