Thanks for your replies everyone! Black & white is definately one of my favourite photo styles. The first 3 pics are my purebred Chihuahua, and the last one is my Jack Russell x Maltese Terrier.

My Chihuahua, Abby, definately doesn't fit into the Chi stereotype. Everyone at our vet (who are big dog fans) now want chihuahuas! :D Abby is really gorgeous, but I find it hard to take photos of her because she's scared of cameras, and she goes extrememly shy, and won't stay still! :p

I also love potography and think you have done a superb job. Potography is a form of art, and you definitely have an eye for it. You should pursue it as profession. What type of camera are you using? The pictures are very clear and you have captured the sole of the subjects. I feel as if they are right here with me.

Keep up the good work ....Good luck.

Thank you very much! :) The camera I used to take those photos is a Casio Exilim Zoom Ex-z55 (it's 5 megapixles). Some of my family are really into photography, so we also have more professional cameras like Nikon and Canon SLRs, but I hardly ever use them... since I don't really know how to! :p Thanks again!

Thank you! :) I love taking 'artistic' shots, I think it sets them apart from the everyday 'happy snaps'.

haha! :D By the way, thanks! I don't take as many photos as you do, but when I went to Europe 2 years ago I took a total of about 800 (digital) photos in 4 weeks! :p My sister took 13 rolls of film (she's also really into photography, more so than me).

actually, speaking of photography, im taking a course at school next term. So ill show you guys the pics

BTW Swiftwind, LOVE the pics
i have a friend that is right into photography, she reckons i don't have the eye for photography because I don't like the photos of some famous photographer, but just because he is famous doesnt make all his stuff great right?

I am just not interested in wasting film on things like washing machines, rather take photo's of trees and clouds i would.

i always think that black and white film looks better when your pictures have meaning

Swiftwind
06-26-2005, 10:55 AM
Thank you! :) I hope you really enjoy your photography course, it should be heaps of fun. Which photographer are you referring to? Don't worry, I don't like all the famous photogaphers out there.. people do have their own oppinions and styles which they like, and it doesn't mean you don't have an eye for photography.

Thank you! :) That is one of my favourites as well, but it's probably about 1 year old. I have more recent ones in my photo album but not all of them are 'arty' in my opinion.

18? Jesus! You're good for such a young person! How long have you been doing this?

Swiftwind
07-10-2005, 10:54 PM
Thanks so much Richie! :) Well I couldn't really say how long I've been photographing 'seriously', ..but I'd probably say since I was 15 as that's when we got our first digital camera, and I just played around with it a bit. However, I have always loved photography (I think it runs in my family), but hardly took any photos before as I never worked out how to use the SLRs we had. And, just by experimenting with my digital camera I have kind of created my own style of capturing things through photography.

OMG! Thoes pictures are like, professional! You are so good!
Im just getting into photography and Ive taken a few good pics so far, but Ive got a long ways to them looking like that! Good job!

Swiftwind

Thanks for your lovely comments, Sprout! :) If you just keep practicing taking photos at different angels, or of your dog's different expressions you can end up getting some really cool looking photos!

I had to move the photos to a new server, and unfortunately I couldn't edit my thread, so I'm posting the photos again in this new message (along with a new photo at the bottom).
