My new Dal puppy is home and she is a wonderful puppy. She is also tiny and 8 weeks old. What, exactly, do I do? We seem to be doing pretty good on the house-training and crate training, she is healthy; eating, drinking, playing and sleeping nicely. But she is so tiny and continually into everything! I do limit her access to the area that I am in of the house, but how do I redirect her safely? I dont want to teach her to ignore me, but I cant hold her constantly either. Any advice welcome!
Ah puppies are so much work. Your best bet is to get a puppy proof place just for her. She's small so it could be a puppy play pen or a small room you can puppyproof or I see you are crate training so letting her play in there is fine. Tying a leash to your waist is another good way to keep her close to you but not let her get into trouble.

Thanks! I have both a crate and an X-pen, we just started the leash on my belt method and I can spend a great deal of time with her. I have puppy-proofed the whole house, and will get baby gates up soon too. I just worry about safety because of her size. Thankyou again.

:) ah... puppies...
LOVE them, but they're a lot of work!
I agree with the above, and just wanted to add that now's a good time to play games with her, with toys, and recall games. ;) Teaching her her name, an attention word - they're very moldable this young! :p
Congrats again!

A really, really nice way to occupy her time is with a camera... whoops, I didn't say that. :D:D:D:D Hehe!
