Puppy School

I keep reading threads where people's dogs graduated from puppy kindergarten at 3 months, or they are taking a socialization class at 2 months old, or something. I don't get it - Aren't the dogs supposed to wait until they are done with all their shots before going out with other dogs? Don't the puppy kindergarten places require that all shots, including rabies, be done before you can even start? That's 4 months old, usually. Am I missing something here?

I agree with you, I was told by my vet not to put Christie in touch with other dogs (or even take her out of the house) until she had at least 3 of her shots.

Lot of places let puppies participate with 2 sets of shots. The critical socialization period is like 12-16 weeks.. So if you wait for 3 sets of shots, you may miss it.
