Charlie has allergies and is constantly scratching. He has been on Hydroxazine forever but it's not doing any good. What other options are there for allergies, or how can I figure out what he's allergic to? I've changed his food a couple of times now with no results. Ideas?

see if your vet offers allergy testing it is a little pricey but then you will know what he is allergic to exactly and you can treat him for spicicfic allergies.

There is a blood test that can be done for allergy testing. Just as your vet clinic if they offer that service - if not find a clinic that does.
It can be costly though - but well worth it.

Riot has possible seasonal allergies as well.

He gets a few suppliments to help him out and hes doing great on them. He gets AllerG3 caplets(from work/vet office) he also gets Dr. Maggie on his food as well as Kelp suppliment to help with skin pigmentation for him.
On "bad days" he gets a 25mg of Benadryl as well.

Does it seem to happen only at certain times of the year or is it ALL the time? My dog has Atopic Allergies (inhalant) usually due to something that is in bloom seasonally, so during the summer time she starts chewing at her legs. Also where does he itch? Head, neck, ears, rear, feet? Check his around his mouth for scabbing or discoloration on the lip skin...that usually points towards food allergies. I'd start trying food with completely different ingrediants than each other. I'd take him off chicken based foods(seems to be a "hot" meat) that many are allergic too. If that doesn't help you can feed chicken based food but start eliminating other ingrediants. It takes about 1-2 weeks before you can tell if anything is working/not working.

It is all year long but is worse right now than it has ever been. When I got him he had a staph infection so we thought that was causing all the itchiness but he has been on sooooooo many antibiotics it's ridiculous (he was a puppymill puppy).

And he literally itches all over - belly, butt, head, ears, ribs.

I am feeding Canidae Lamb and Rice right now, with no results whatsoever and he's been on it quite a while now.
