He LOVED it and was having fun!!! He ate most of the meat and some of the bone. Yesterday night, when I back home, I discovered that his stool was in many small pieces and they were rock hard and crispy. I thought was because it is dried. But when I took him outside, he poo again and the fresh stool was also rock hard. Is it normal??
Tks

The pups get then when i don't feed them enough veggies and the like with their meals. Give him some stuff to loosen it up =) or hes not digesting it right?
im new to the raw feeding, but thats just what ive experienced.

Well sir it may just be the change in his diet. Plenty of fluid, and let him get used to the change.

Sounds like "bone poo" to me... maybe when he gets a bone to chew on, he shouldn't get so much at once. Or give him other stuff with it to bulk it out.

It's normal. It's the way raw fed poop is supposed to be. Very hard and not smelly. If a raw fed dog is not eating a balanced diet, then the poop gets softer. Hard and "crispy" is good.

Happy to hear that. Tks
Now I found a way to keep his stool firm becoz he occassionally gave soft stool before

I once heard that if it is too calcified it means you are allowing your dog to have too much bone. Can anybody back this up???

I don't feed RAW........but I have seen it posted many places that crumbly/dry poop is too much bone in the diet. It needs to be balanced. Small well formed poop is good, but dry and crumbly is not. It can lead to constipation.........and that can lead to more problems.
Yeah, it gets crumbly from too much bone. I wouldn't worry about it- you fed a little dog a big bone! It has probably already cleared up.
With my dogs I don't worry about inconsistency in their stool if it only lasts for a day. If it's 2-3 days in a row then I address it with some pumpkin.

Ilsa gets this after she's destroyed a Sarge Bone... I think it's just the excess calcium and bone "coming out" the other end!
