HeartGuard Generic (Ivermectin) from Petshed ??

Me and a friend were looking at this and wondering if anyone has tried it and if it's safe to use ?? it's about $7-$10 a box cheaper then Heartguard from them in my case not a lot I only have 1 dog but he's buying for several dogs.

Ivermectin is the active ingredient in Heartgard I do believe. I don't see why it would be a problem since that is exactly the same as what you would be buying from the vet.

BUT you need to have your dog tested for Heartworm FIRST. If your dog is always on a preventative and you are just looking into going cheaper next month or whatever, thats fine. But if you are buying it for the first time and your dog is over 6 months, take him to the vet for a test first.

Thanks no all are now on HeartGuard we were just looking at refills Mine was just tested in April His are also all current we have just never heard of a generic version of Heartguard before and were looking to see if others have tried it
