Thank you! Thank you, gapeach!! I faxed a letter this morning with a copy of the article and a printout of Statute 35-46-3-12 Beating A Vertabrate Animal. My Mom called and the lady who answered said the hearing was over, he's back in jail, then hung up on her!!! The more noise we can make, the better! That article actually said the DEMON will likely face LITTLE to NO PUNISHMENT!!!   Let's make some noise, PEOPLE! It's Jeffrey Dahlmer in the making!!

May 19, 2005 update
The prosecutor's office says the teen will be detained in the Henry County Juvenile Center. Charges could come early next week.
PLEASE help rally for the harshest penalty possible! This is Jeffrey Dahlmer in the making! Those poor little dogs. The Pom was 15! And they both were so loved. The filming of their "Mamma" was heart-wrenching! They were literally cut "to pieces" with a broken wine cooler bottle!!! The pug was thrown into a creek. No one around here seems to care much! Gustav, the way you call the states would be 01-765-458-6131 for the Prosecutor's office there. Let them know you're calling all the way from FRANCE! I'm just so upset...

This is hideous. I'm getting off the internet to call the prosecutor right now. Eli, think about maybe changing the name of the thread. Let folks know that you want help and not just to tell a yucky story.

Okay, I called and left a message. PLEASE call everyone. We had a similar case here in Colorado where we successfully pursued felony animal cruelty charges against the person. We need to do what we can to stop him hurting other innocent animals.

"Everyone please help!!" or something of the like, maybe? "Please help, justice for murdered dogs"...?
I wasn't going to read it until I realized there was actually something I could do.

Hmm...I'm not a mod in News and Articles. I can't change it either.
I'd also like to send a card to the family. Do you have information on where I could send it, Eli? Does the family have a proxy or something where it could be sent?

That there's not more interest in this horrendous crime and the little bit there is to help. Thank you to those that have responded to the Pros office. You are wonderful. I really thought there could be more of a rally of people from this site...

I've passed the info on to another trainer friend of mine and three other folks. So far, so good Eli! This kid demonstrated some very serious sociopathic behavior even if you don't consider his crime against the dogs. I would guess that he won't get away with this easily.

Another thought; we could try calling the TV and radio stations that aren't giving this story fair coverage and let them know we're disappointed.

Found another article giving more info. Said this teen killed the dogs and ransacked the house (including pissing on the son's bed) in retaliation for the Mom forbidding her son to associate with him when he took a vehicle on a joyride (he's only 14). Piece of sh*t. At least this article said he'd be charged with burglary and "animal cruelty". It better be to the fullest extent!!
This article also contains a slideshow (four pics) of these sweet dogs...

LIBERTY, Ind. -- A 14-year-old Union County boy accused of killing two dogs and burglarizing a home on Watt Road on Tuesday was returned to a secure detention center after a hearing Thursday in Union Circuit Court.
An initial hearing for the youth will be held June 6, Union County Probation Officer Don Isaac said. Isaac declined to identify the detention center where the boy is being held.
A petition alleging the youth committed delinquent acts will be filed soon, Isaac said. The acts, if committed by an adult, would be charged as burglary, a Class B felony; two counts of animal cruelty, residential entry and criminal mischief, Class D felonies; reckless possession of paraphernalia, resisting law enforcement and trespassing, Class A misdemeanors; and minor consuming alcohol, a Class C misdemeanor, Isaac said.
The investigation into the case is continuing, Isaac said. An attorney was appointed to represent the youth.
The dogs, a Pomeranian and a pug mix, suffered stab wounds and blunt trauma, apparently having been killed by a broken wine cooler bottle on which dog hair and skin were found, according to the Indiana State Police.
The case of animal cruelty has drawn a lot of media attention from Indianapolis and Cincinnati television stations. Peg Hartman, secretary at the Union County Prosecutor's Office, said media calls to the office began at 2 p.m. Wednesday and didn't stop until about noon Thursday.
The state police were called to the home of Tina and Greg Schneider on Tuesday, after the Schneiders' teen-aged children came home from school and found their home had been ransacked and their dogs missing. The teens told officers that there had been a "falling out" with a neighbor boy after he took one of their vehicles for a joy ride, officers said.
The boy denied being at the Schneider home, but after an argument with his father he fled. Deputies from the Union County Sheriff's Office apprehended him in a foot chase.
Officers found a DVD player, alcohol and clothing in the boy's room, items that were missing from the Schneider home.
A pair of bloody pants that his father said belonged to the boy was found near one of the dogs by a nearby creek.
