Lucas hasn't urinated since the surgery (May 15). I know it's only been 2 days, but he should have urinated by now right? :( He's been drinking a bit more water than usual as well.

I've taken him out every few hours to see if he had to urinate, but he sniffs around and that's it. He doesn't even make a move to urinate at all. He also hasn't defecated :(

We have an appointment tomorrow to check the drainage tube and hopefully take it out so I can talk to the vet tomorrow, but I just don't get what would cause this from surgery on his neck?? Any ideas? Is it really bad? Should I call the vets now?

I would want to call and at least speak with the vet and tell them this.

For 2 days without urinating.. thats a long time...

I called and the vet said she was worried about the urination as well. She said if he doesn't urinate by this afternoon (around 1pm) then I need to take him in today (even though he has an appointment tomorrow) to get it checked out and see what they can do. I'm going to tkae him out every 20 mins and see if he goes.

I will! Thanks SummerRiot! :) I hope he goes today and it's nothing :( Maybe it's the new meds?

YAY! I took him out just now and he urinated, though it was not a lot and a bit choppy. The color was also a bit off.......I'm gonna call the vet back and tell her and see what she thinks!

Ok, she said as long as he keeps going to the bathroom today he should be ok until tomorrow. She said it sounded like he got a bit dehydrated. So as long as he continues to urinate, we will go in tomorrow and have everything checked :)

I wonder if he needs electrolytes? Poor guy. Good he's going though! Definitely a good sign.
