Roxy Mae is quite fond of doing what a lot of other dogs do! Eating the "doo." I find this very disgusting as I'm sure everyone else does to. It does not matter whether it is Oreo's "leftover's" or her own. She loves the stuff. I don't hit her for doing it, but I do let out a very screeching... "YUCK!" Emma, what to do...what to do?????

My Odo will eat the kitty crunchies but he does not eat his own.
You could build a cabinet to put the litter box in..you have to make the entrance so only the cat can get in. and then you have doors so you can get to it for cleaning. You could store it in a place like a laundry room or a storage room.

Brady tries to steal the kitty poo from the litter box. But I have that room blocked off as the kitty's room, and he cannot get into it. But a few time I have been cleaning the room and he has snuck in there and stolen himself a morsel. It really grosses me out when he does that. Luckily it has not happened in a really long time.

I'm interested in the answer to this one too. Misha doesn't eat her own, but cat poo, rabbit poo or some other random dog poo is one of her favourtie walk time snacks. Screeching doesn't work for me either, she just sits down, chews away and looks at me.

My dogs eat their and the cat's poo too :(.

To keep them from eating the doggie poo, I pick it up with a little mini pail/broom they make for that specifically. It keeps the yard clean, too. I hate the flies and having to 'watch where you step' all the time, and find it overall more hygenic. You can get those at petsmart.

For the cat litter, I use the long closet in our office. I keep the side with the cat litter box closed, and leave the other end open, so only the cat can fit in there. I've considered one of those self cleaning litter boxes, but I'm not sure that would be enough. I think they actually like kitty litter. If you have a small dog, you may have to elevate it somewhere

The cat litter is the bigger of the two issues, since it can compact in their tummy, depending on the type of litter you use.

Oh, i can beat you all.
Once there was a family that lived next to the park, down the road from us. We took the dogs down once, and our friends over there told us that this families kid had come and shat in the sand.
As if that wasnt gross enough, Sophie headed over to it, and before we could stop here, ate the whole thing in one mouthful.

Other than that. They eat the horse and rabbit crap. Cat Crap, but Panda insists on leaving the yard to do his business, so we dont have a litter tray for him inside anymore.

But that is a SICK story hey, still makes me feel ill. Sorry for sharing, but thought ide let you know

I can guive you the answer to it, i thinkm a bit of it anyway.
because dogs are mainly carnivores, they tend to need vegie nutrients, thats why they eat grass, the poo of herbivores has these nutrients in it. Like rabbits, do two different kinds of poo, soft and hard, they eat the soft stuff because it allows their body to get even more nutrition from their food. I just learnt that rabbit thing today, so some trivia for ya :D

Thanks mrose - at least I guess she has a reason - it's one way to get your greens isn't it!!!! I've learnt such a lot since getting Misha, most of it I probably wouldn't discuss at the dinner table, lol.

CJ is my clever dog. We cut out a hole in the door for the cats to go into the room for the litter box. The hole is larger than a normal size cat hole since my Maine Coons are big. CJ actually squeezes her body through; she's got bad hips so I think she manipulates her legs to get through. Now I have a small baby gate leaning at a slant against the door so the cats can go under the gate & into the room.
