View Full Version : Pups need rescueing

There are a bunch of pups out near my fiance's house. He lives in a very small community outside a small town (population about 1000). We don't have animal control there really so he can't really call them to do anything about it. He is thinking of taking them to the closest city (90 miles away) this weekend to try to get them into a no-kill shelter. I think there are about 10 of them though and I don't know how he is going to get them there. I am sure that they would adopt quickly however as they are adorable little pups. I think they are part border collie, or some of them are. Justin is going to try to get some pics of them so that I can post them. I thought I would post this just in case anyone was interested in taking one/fostering one, or knew of anyone who might be interested.

I am in the Texas panhandle. A couple weeks ago he got them to come to him, but I dunno if he will be able to catch them again. The dogs that had them were puppies at one point and you couldn't catch them.

Have you tried to contact a BC rescue? That way they can/will go to the right homes.

We don't live in an area where there are many breed specific rescues. I try to look up some later though. Hopefully Justin will get some pics today so I can have a better look at them to see if I can tell what breeds they are more closely

I see Golden in one, Lab in the two solid black pups, and GSD in the tan with black muzzle, then BC in the last one with the white tipped tail. Is there one more from your first picture? Is so, that one looks BC too.
How old do you think they are?

I'm not sure there is that many different breeds. I am pretty sure there aren't any GSDs in the area. I know I haven't seen any. I know a couple of the adult dogs out there look like BCs(they were from a stray litter last year). I believe there are about 10 pups, not all are in the pics.
I sent him an e-mail to see how old he thinks they are. And I also asked him what breeds he thinks the adult dogs running around there are.

exactly the way I saw them---too adorable---would love to scoop up that little black and white pup (I must have a thing for black and white dogs!!LOL)--sorry I can't help--but I wish you good luck in finding them wonderful homes!

They are gorgeous dogs, I would take the black and white BCish one in a heart beat. But I hope you can find good homes for them.

Well they will probably be going to shelter because as I said, he lives in a small town and aren't many options for finding them homes. Plus the majority of the people there think it is ok to let their dogs run lose anyways. And well my sister would kill me if he brought them here so I could find them homes. This is why I can't wait for Justin and I to have our own place, then I can do rescue work.
The pups are probably mix of BC, Lab, and Heeler. And Justin says they are probably about 8 weeks old.

They are sooo cute. I really wish we could take the black and white one... if only you were closer, and I could convince my fiancee that we need another dog ;)

Found a couple BC rescues in TX, but they are 600 miles away.
There had to have been more than one sire for that litter, lol!
