I got right over it, realizing that this was a troll being a jerk. But when I first read it, it hurt because yes....I do love my dogs and show them with gushing affection. I hardly speak a harsh word to them ever. And right now, while I'm on vacation here in Seattle, my Dobe, Lyric became ill. He's seeing a specialist but undoubtedly, he won't be with me for a long time, as his liver seems to be screwed up big time. But that's for another thread another time when I find out more from his ultra sound tomorrow.

When I read that, I was thinking, "you better believe I'm going to be like Mary Poppins, more now than ever." You see, I've always done all those thing that jerk says will make your dog take over and never once have I had one lick of trouble from them. They're all precious to me. Yes but I did react to it but do not think I over reacted. But that may be because I happen to have a very explosive temper and when I am personally attacked like I thought I was here I went off. The basic idea of the joke is funny but the content was just wrong. The op could have went with a more gentle theme. Sorry folks but this one I am not going to just shrug off and laugh about. Posts that have given the "joke" away keep getting deleted. The second post in the thread was me saying it was only code making everyone's names show up. I've posted a couple times saying it was just code, and they've all been deleted. Since posts keep getting deleted in the thread, this must be the work of a moderator.

I fail to see the April Fool's Day humor in this one. It's just beyond stupid, and not even remotely funny. Having everyone log in and think they're banned? Probably would have been funny. I think it helps that I don't take attacks personally, specially from someone on the internet whom I don't really know, and really don't know me. When someone attacks me (or when I think someone does), my first reaction is always trying to find the reason behind the attack. Maybe the person misunderstands me, or maybe he/she doesn't have all the facts, or maybe he/she doesn't feel very well, thus feels the need to vent, but expresses his/her frustrations in the wrong way that ticks me, etc.. When I think like that, I don't get upset when being attacked, but rather see it as an opportunity to clarify things, and foster the understanding between the attacker and I.

Take this, for example, I didn't know it was a joke at first, so I didn't think it was funny, and thought it was directed at me, but I didn't get upset, and I didn't feel my character was being attacked. I didn't think the OP was an idiot, or a jerk, or anything bad. I felt that he/she misunderstood me - thus, my reply stating clearly my position and my thoughts on the subject in hope to justify why I do what I do with my dogs. Now that I know it was a joke, even though it may not be too funny to some, I have to give the OP the credit he/she deserves for being so clever with the computer, and the ability to think of something like this in the first place ;)

Some times, I hope we can all be a little more considerate and tolerant toward each other. It will save us a lot of unnecessary angers and hatred.

Nobody hates each other here (that I know of) its just that most people's first reaction to their dog being bad talked about it just sets them off.
