Lawn treatment

We have a lawn service due to start soon. Is that a really bad idea for a puppy/dog to go on? The stuff they will be putting down first is a preemergent. The rest are just fertilizers.
They are all the granular type.

I think it depends on the type of fertilizer but I never put my pets out after the grass was fertilized. Nasty stuff. I think you are supposed to keep them away for several days.

I stay completely clear of it after one of my 1st Goldens got mouth cancer from licking paws . Yes this was many years ago .... but I stiil don't trust chemicals .
