Thanks for having me, my first post here.

I have two Maltese (brother and sister) that are nearing ten years of age. The male is in very good health but his sister, Boo, has been diagnosed with Cushings disease this past fall. Since that time, her health has declinced steadily despite the use of Lydrosen (like chemotherapy). She has lost the use of her back legs and I have to hold her for her to do her business. It is fortunate that I work out of the house so I can attend to her 24/7. I fear the end is near but like any good dad I want to do everything I can for her- -those two mean the world to me.

I have discovered a holistic approach on the web called Cushex drops. I Googled it to see what the user reviews are outside of thier website- -none that I can find. I'd be very interested and very appreciative of anyone here who can tell that they've used this approach and what results you've had. My deepest thanks in advance for any input on your experience with Cushings or the Cushex product.

I haven't heard of Cushex, so I can't comment on that, but I would like to say how sorry I am about Boo. I know you'll do what's right for her.

Thanks for you kind sentiments regarding my baby girl. For the moment, she is alert, still loves to eat and drink, and can't wait for her favorite treat, carrot, everyday. For this, for now, I'm thankful. Based on this, my vet tells me that she isn't a great deal of pain. I'll know when "it's time" for her to go to heaven; breaks my heart to even write it out.

I am terribly sorry. :(

May I recommend someone who has helped me with all of my dog's nutrition plans and Buddy's poor health since day one? She is really great and may be able to offer some insight into your situation. Feel free to PM me for further information and/or go here (http://www.betterdogcare.com/).

Thanks for the suggestion. I will take a run over to the that website and see what I can learn.

BTW: I noticed your spectacular talent for names a moment ago in your sig line. My sick baby girls full name is Bella "Boo" Ann.

Thank you for your kind thoughts concerning baby Boo- -they've always been my babies. The kind feedback I'm getting here has already given me great comfort. And, thanks for your mention of "you'll know when the time is right." That's been painfully lingering in my mind daily; can't imagine a world without my leaf chaser.

Lol, thanks! We tried to be creative with the names. :p

Might want to send Mordy (Sabine) an email also... she provided a holistic method for us to combat mange on our dog, Buddy. She's been a life saver. Best of luck to you and Bella "Boo" Ann. I'm a PM away if you need more info. :)

I just want to say that I am sorry you and your babies are dealing with this. I don't know much about Cushings at all. I did surf and couldn't find much on that product either. I did happen to find another holistic remedy though just FYI.

First of all, I love this one: "The average dog is a nicer person than the average person." So true.

Thanks for your sentiments and your efforts in helping Boo today. I did check out the website you offered and it looks as though it might be worth a try.

I've also PM'd Mordy along with a follow up e-mail to see what her thoughts on all of this are. Thanks again for the support. (Boo's right behind my desk at the moment watching every move I make, as always. I think we might be closing in on one of her favorite times of the day: carrot time.)

Mordy hasn't been around lately, she's been busy with her business. She will not get her PM. Glad you followed through with an email though. I hope she can help. :)

Thanks Nicole.

BTW: another naming coincidence- -my 13 year old is named Nicole and it's spelled as yours is. Are we living in a parallel universe by chance?

Perhaps. What's your daughter's middle name? :p

Not much chance of you having the middle name of Elizabeth? Let me know if you'd like to borrow a teenage daughter for a weekend, anytime LOL.

No, no Elizabeth here. Mine is Marie, which is often a common middle name, especially on the board here. :)

And well, I'm better with the really young ones, but she may enjoy a weekend with my crew. Can she handle a 90lb lap dog? ;)

I thought I saw a post from her, but I could be wrong and it could old...like me. Hehehe. If you don't get a PM answer you might want to contact her at her website.

Marie is common? I'd say you're right with that. My mother is Ann Marie. One of my sisters is Susan Marie. Our babies? Milo has my middle name of Henry and Bella has my mother's first name as her middle.

90lb lap dog? She loves dogs but her friends are a higher priority at her age of 13. We think she even lives here because we've seen a shadow from time to time coming out of her room with a phone in hand. LOL

BTW: Mordy did respond to my e-mail and was as helpful as she could be. Cushings is just a real terrible disease. Her and I are going to work on a better diet for Milo Henry (a loud German Sheperd trapped in a Maltese body)though. Thanks for directing me towards her.

Oh, well the boys, Buddy specifically, wouldn't have it... her friends? No, Buddy and Banzai are way more important than her friends. :p

I'm glad Mordy will be able to help with something. She's really awesome!

I'll be keeping you baby in my thoughts and prayers. I can tell you're doing everything you can for her. I know Mordy will help in any way she can.
